INT. DIRTY KITCHEN PROD OFFICE- DAY

NED: So, who do we get to play Meryl?

ONNAH: We both liked that Martin guy’s audition.

NED: Yeah, he was good.

ONNAH: But you know what? When I googled him, nothing came up.

NED: What do you mean nothing came up?

ONNAH: I mean nothing, nada, zip.

NED: Maybe he’s using a screen name?

ONNAH: He said he that’s his real name.

NED: Didn’t he say he has done some theater work? Did you check his name against the theater groups?

ONNAH: There seems to be no record of him having done anything with all the theater groups that we know. I know, it’s strange.

NED: You know what this means? He could be a Tom Ripley!

ONNAH: I don’t think he’s the serial killer type.

NED: But he could have just invented this whole personality…

ONNAH: I don’t think so. And besides, there’s no such thing as a Filipino serial killer.

NED: Then how do you explain Andrew Cunanan?

ONNAH: Look, do you want him for the Meryl role or not?

NED: Alright, I’ll give him a call.

(Postscript: Because of his audition at the Cinemalaya open casting call, Martin Dela Paz was able to bag two roles in two different Cinemalaya movies this year.)
